*M/S Excel Tools for Quality Documentation and Analysis. Part I: Data entry and presentation*. by Dave Brown 
M/S Excel is an almost universally used as a tool for recording, assessing and communicating quality information. Using some of the power tools within Excel, simple spreadsheets can be transformed into highly professional presentations and generalized tools for repeated use and greatly improved efficiency.
In this first of a series of presentations on power tools within Excel we’ll focus on data entry and presentation methods that transform one-off tasks to highly useful data management tools. 
This series will conclude with methods for managing and querying date, and using VBA to create powerful tools beyond those within Excel for solving a wide range of problems. 
Later in the year we’ll return to design of experiments and ANOVA, to discuss further applications of these methods.

Come join us for a great evening with our special quest speaker, Mike Krossen – Mr. Pareto Head. His talk is on some of his important work at the Cleveland Clinic. 
When someone mentions Lean or 5S, you immediately think of eliminating waste and improving throughput in a factory setting. The same tools can also apply in an office setting. Cleveland Clinic’s Quality Institute decided to apply the 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to their office area. The presentation will share data, video and photographs of before and after results as well as plans on how to maintain the success.
Mike Crossen, aka Mr. Pareto Head, is a Quality Manager at Cleveland Clinic. Before that, he was Senior Process Quality Engineer at Rockwell Automation in Twinsburg, Ohio for 27 years. Mike is the creator of the comic strip "Mr. Pareto Head" which is published monthly in ASQ’s Quality progress magazine
